My November ‘25 Week 3 in Review

Monday was a really slow day and I love it. I love slow days...days where everything I do is intentional and not based on feelings.

I have this monthly spreadsheet I share with my housemate, where we fill in things we bought for the house. I really don't like filling it in, as I have to navigate to the spreadsheet and all that. It’d be nice if I could automate that process.

I've been meaning to set up my own S3 storage on my homelab, but I haven't found a use case for it. Today, I finally had a reason: I need to set up my own Git instance and I want the data to be saved to my S3, so I spent a few hours setting it up.

UPDATE: Time is 21:36. I am now in the restaurant, it's a Japanese restaurant. I haven't tried Japanese food that much, but my friends told me it tastes so nice, so I'm excited to try out what the surprise bag has for me! It's about 27 minutes away from where I live, so I also get a nice night walk.

But I noticed that n8n doesn’t fetch the folders you create either using MinIO client or manually in the console, only the ones created through n8n. I’m not sure if that’s a bug or something, but I’m still researching what to do.

This week has been quite heavy on reflection. I've read a few blog posts and I just love how well the writers reflect about their days, months, and years. It's... real and rare. And I want that for myself. One quote that always stuck with me:

Oftentimes we forget how hard we work, struggle to get to the current stage that we are.

Life is moving fast and it never stops. Sometimes we just have to look back and reflect. Having a book about your life is not a bad thing—it's your life and you deserve it.

One day I will grow old and I’ll need these books, journals, blogs to remind me of who I used to be and things I've accomplished, no matter how small they are. Writing is hard and yes, it's time-consuming, but taking it slow, day by day, and you will get there.

The reward is a story about you.
